Benedict Foundation to sponsor new Polarflight Research Group. At its April meeting, the board of the Benedict Foundation announced plans to sponsor and underwrite the new group. A Southern Experience. The Benedict Foundation will sponsor a tablesetting show and talk by a local author on Friday, June 11, at 10:30 am. at the Foundation's center at 1013 E. Moore St., Southport. Becky Shuford, author of the book Smidgens: Bits and Pieces of a Southern Family's Life will give a talk in conjunction with the show. There is no charge to attend, but space is somewhat limited so please call the Benedict Foundation at 910 200-2244 in advance to let them know if you plan to attend.

Board Governance Seminars . The Benedict Foundation will sponsor its fifth in a series of four consecutive Board Governance Seminars to be held on four Saturday mornings, February 6, 13, 20 and 27, from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm at the foundation's center at 1013 E. Moore St., Southport. Fee for all four sessions is $45 per person and includes materials and light refreshments. For more information click here.

Yarn Sale. The Benedict Foundation will sponsor its second private, invitation only, Yarn Sale (that's YarN with an N) on Thursday, April 8, at the foundation's center at 1013 E. Moore St., Southport, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Included will be pre-packaged lots of yarn in well-known brands such as Patons, Beehive, Bucilla and many others in a variety of colors.
